Covid has wreaked havoc on the area trial courts and recent correspondence with the assignment office at the Circuit Court for Prince George's County does not bode well for newly filed cases.
Injury cases with a trial duration of two days or more are being scheduled for the fall of 2022 at the earliest. More complex or longer trial time cases can expect 2023! This is no fault of the court but a function of the postponement of virtually all cases for an eighteen month period due to the pandemic.
Obviously, the continued issues with the so-called Delta variant may cause still more delay. Stay tuned.
