Maryland Personal Injury District Court Trials Resume either in person or remotely. Good Thinking!

handshakeWhile the prospect for Maryland personal injury jury trials remains distant, there is good news emanating from the District Courts where cases are being reset with options for in person or remote attendance.

Litigants receive a Notice of  Teleconference Hearing which provides for options including in person appearance, telephonic participation and video-conferencing.

Exhibits to be introduced into evidence can be delivered to the clerk's office, emailed in PDF format or for attorneys they can be filed via MDEC, the electronic courts management tool.

This is a welcome development that will begin to eat into the massive case backlogs stemming from the covid virus.
