It is widely known that teen drivers are often involved in car accidents in Maryland and nationwide and the National Highway Transportation Safety Administration (NHTSA) is promoting a common sense solution to reducing personal injuries and fatalities. The "5 To Drive" campaign is being launched with an eye toward implementing a simple group of proven safety strategies.

At Clark and Steinhorn, we have written about each of the elements of this campaign before. They are as follows:

1. No cell phone use of any kind while driving.

2. No extra passengers

3. No speeding

4. No alcohol

5. Always use seat belts.

The fact is that in Maryland, each of these "strategies" is already the law but perhaps a comprehensive presentation while encourage greater teen adherence to the law and save lives. For more go to:
