Robert V. Clark, Jr. of Laurel, Maryland's Clark and Steinhorn returned to Sirius XM's "The Legal Pad" to discuss professional negligence or malpractice with host, James E. McCollum, Jr. Mr. Clark expanded on his 2012 appearance which caused a bit of a stir.
The subject matter for the show which was recorded on October 28, 2013, was "professional malpractice." Professional malpractice is a broad description of cases involving negligence on the part of health care providers, attorneys, engineers and other licensed individuals or companies.
Mr. Clark discussed three cases he had concluded in 2013 which included a medical malpractice burn case, a legal malpractice case and a case involving negligence on the part of a state vehicle inspector in Maryland which resulted in a major crash and significant injuries.
Attention turned to how Mr. Clark first developed an interest in such cases and focused on his first such trial more than thirty years ago in Montgomery County, Maryland. That case involved an allegation that an anesthesiologist failed to intubate a patient's trachea during a routine throat polyp removal operation. The mistake resulted in the intubation of the victim's esophagus and a temporary loss of oxygen.
Bob pointed out that medical negligence doesn't only occur in hospitals and doctors offices but also can happen in private homes, assisted care facilities and of course nursing homes. http://www.maryland-law.com/blog/laurel-md-attorney-robert-v-clark-jr-back-on-the-radio.cfm
