Allan W. Steinhorn was born in Baltimore, Maryland on April 29, 1955. Mr. Steinhorn and his wife Wendy, a kindergarten teacher, reside in Howard County, Maryland, having raised three daughters who have since left the nest.  Mr. Steinhorn attended the University of Maryland at College Park where he received his undergraduate degree in 1978. He received his J.D. degree from the University of Baltimore School of Law in 1985.  Mr. Steinhorn was a judicial law clerk for the Honorable Robert H. Mason, Associate Judge, Seventh Judicial Circuit for the State of Maryland, and was an intern to the Honorable Rosalyn B. Bell, Sixth Judicial Circuit for the State of Maryland. Mr. Steinhorn received his civil trial experience from his work in the past for both plaintiff and defense personal injury law firms.

After completing his judicial clerkship, Mr. Steinhorn began private practice working as Plaintiff's counsel in a law fim in the District of Columbia that focused its practice solely on plaintiff's personal injury and medical malpractice cases.  Mr. Steinhorn tried many jury trials and court trials on behalf of plaintiffs during this time period.  Mr. Steinhorn also received extensive jury trial experience litigating personal injury cases in the courts of Maryland and the District of Columbia as House Counsel for a major insurance company in the Washington Metro Area.  Mr. Steinhorn currently devotes his practice to plaintiffs' personal injury and medical malpractice cases, and other types of complex civil litigation.
Mr. Steinhorn is a member of the exclusive Mulit-Million Dollar Advocates Forum as well as the Million Dollar Advocates Forum.  Membership in the Multi-Million Dollar Advocates Forum is reserved for those trial lawyers who obtain judgments or settlements that result in net recoveries of over Two Million Dollars ($2,000,000.00) for his or her clients, after payment of all legal fees and expenses.  Mr. Steinhorn was invited to join the Forum after acting as principal lead counsel in a case filed in the United States District Court for Maryland that settled just prior to trial for $6,700,000.00.  Mr. Steinhorn was also named a SuperLawyer of the Year in 2013 following his verdict in a jury trial in the Circuit Court for Anne Arundel County, Maryland.  Mr. Steinhorn obtained a $151,000.00 jury verdict on behalf of three students who sued a for profit school.  Although the students paid a total of $17,000.00 in tuition, the jury awarded the three students almost ten times the amount they paid in tuition.  The Court also awarded Mr. Steinhorn and his co-counsel almost $400,000.00 in legal fees and costs, one of the largest legal fee awards in Maryland history for the type of case (violations of Maryland's Consumer Protection Act), and the amount of the judgment in the case.
Mr. Steinhorn was admitted to the bar of the State of Maryland in 1985, the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals in 1986, the bar of the District of Columbia in 1987, and the United States Supreme Court in 1989. Mr. Steinhorn is admitted to practice in both the state and Federal courts of the State of Maryland, and the local and Federal courts of the District of Columbia. He is also a member of the District of Columbia Bar, the Prince George's County Bar and the Maryland State Bar Association.    Mr. Steinhorn is also a member of the Maryland Association for Justice. Mr. Steinhorn was one of the original members of the J. Dudley Digges Inn of the American Inns of Court, founded in 1986. He was Assistant Secretary-Treasurer of the J. Dudley Digges Inn of Court from 1987-88. Mr. Steinhorn is a Master of the Bench in the J. Dudley Digges Inn of Court.
