Washington D.C. Safest Driving City is also Nation's Fittest City.

Word comes that the Washington, D.C. Metro area is the nations fittest. The annual survey by the American College of Sports Medicine ranks several other nearby cities in their top 20 including Ricmond, Virginia Beach and Baltimore.

A number of variables go into the evaluation including community health and preventative care programs, extent of parkland, rates of obesity, diabetes, and cardiovascular problems and of course how often residents exercise.

This encouraging report dovetails with previous blogs here and elsewhere indicating that the District of Columbia http://www.maryland-law.com/blog/district-of-columbia-safest-roads-in-america.cfmand Maryland are among the safest places to drive cars in the United States. http://www.maryland-law.com/blog/crash-deaths-in-maryland-and-nation-at-an-alltime-low.cfm
