Tragic Western Maryland Helicopter Crash

Tragedy struck when a helicopter crashed in the Smithsburg area of western Maryland. The copter was being operated by a flight training company, Advanced Helicopter Concepts. Three employees and an unidentified passneger perished. There is some speculation that weather could have played a part as the helicopter struck power lines on its way to earth.

This comes in the wake of investigations of other Maryland helicopter crashes associated with the state medevac system. The National Transportation Safety Board investigated the tragic 2008 crash of "Trooper 2" in Prince Georges County
