The University of Maryland's starting right offensive tackle, Pete DeSouza was struck while riding his motor scooter and sustained two broken legs knocking him out of football action for the rest of this season.

Mr. DeSouza a graduate of Dematha High was riding his scooter on the University of Maryland campus when a car turned left in front of him. The driver of the car was ticketed as they reportedly turned left in front of Mr. DeSouza's scooter which was going straight.
