Krystal Brown of District Heights was known throughout her neighborhood as a person who walked everywhere and on the fatal day she and her brother were walking home from the library when they were struck by a hit and run driver around 5:30 pm on Walker Mill Road in District Heights.

After the crash, Ms. Brown and her brother were taken to an area hospital where she died. Her brother reportedly remains in critical condition. Prince Georges County Police continue to seek information on the striking vehicle which has been described as a 1990 Honda Accord which was gold in color.
