Two early season pedestrian traffic deaths in Ocean City, Maryland have Ocean City Police on high alert in an effort to avoid further loss of life.

Local authorities counsel pedestrians to cross Ocean Highway at traffic lights with the signal in crosswalks. They also insist that drivers not drive under the influence of alcohol. The dangerous mix of multitudinous young partiers with a major roadway running right through the heart of their partying turf annually produces wrongful death and personal in jury in Worcester County, Maryland. 

A 22-year old man was recently struck and killed and a week later a 15-year-old girl met a similar fate. The young lady was reportedly  crossing Coastal Highway against the no walk sign. The young man's death resulted in criminal charges against the striking driver including homicide by motor vehicle while in a state of intoxication.
