It was a tragic weekend for two families whose loved ones were seriously injured, one fatally, by hit and run drivers in Prince Georges County, Maryland. Shortly after midnight Sunday morning, a pedestrian was killed on Route 450. According to police, shortly before the crash, calls came in to 911 reporting that a woman was waking in the roadway. Shortly thereafter, reports came in that the woman, believed to be in her 20's, had been struck. Witnesses reported seeing a light brown car stopped near the scene, and other witnesses described two people standing in a nearby parking lot looking over a car with a broken windshield and damaged hood. No arrests have been made.
In a second hit and run accident this weekend, police are looking for the driver of a car that struck and seriously injuried the driver of a disabled vehicle on Saturday night on the Baltimore Washington Parkway as the driver stood by her disabled car. The driver of the striking vehicle ldid not stop after striking the woman, and police are looking for a light colored white or silver van. The 27 year old woman from Baltimore was taken to the hospital with injuires to her head and neck.
