Natasha Pettigrew, the Maryland Green Party candidate for the United States Senate, succumbed to injuries she sustained on Sunday September 19, 2010 in Prince Georges County, Maryland. As reported here previously, Ms. Pettigrew was riding her bicycle on Landover Road near Campus drive in preparation for a triathlon, when she was struck by a Cadillac Escalade vehicle.  http://www.maryland-law.com/blog/maryland-green-party-candidate-severely-injured-in-prince-georges-county-crash.cfm

Ms. Pettigrew was taken to Prince Georges Hospital in Cheverly where she expired.

The SUV was driven by Christy R. Littleford of Upper Marlboro, Maryland and Prince Georges County Police continue to investigate this matter.

Ms. Pettigrew's mother, Kenniss Henry is arranging a candlelight vigil at the area of the crash.

Ms. Pettigrew was a graduate of the Ohio State University and was taking a leave of absence from the University of Miami Law School to run for political office.
