It was inevitable. The giant storm recedes and area residents take to the roadways in seeming disregard of the hazardous conditions. How hazardous you ask? The Baltimore-Washington Parkway southbound became a skating rink and was closed inside the Beltway. The northbound lanes of the Baltimore-Washington Parkway were closed briefly as well.
Route 301 in Upper Marlboro, Maryland was closed at Route 4 due to a train crossing gate being permanently down. (Passers by lifted it up it citizenly good cooperation).
Major east-west artery Randolph Road was closed in Montgomery County at Nebel Street in Rockville causing traffic chaos.
