Latest Traffic Safety Tip: Increased Reflectivity

As we have illustrated in the past crash deaths are tumbling in Maryland, the District of Columbia and nationwide. http://www.maryland-law.com/blog/crash-deaths-in-maryland-and-nation-at-an-alltime-low.cfm

Much of this is attributable to the increased prevalence of modern safety equipment and increased emphasis on preventing drunk and distracted driving.

The latest idea is to study increased reflectivity of both signs and pavement so drivers will be better able to discern the contours of roadways at night and see important traffic precautions.

The plan is to create minimum reflectivity standards for a host of different traffic circumstances. The Federal Highway Administration will report on this subject at length.
