Jury Awards $664,000.00 To Victim of Texting-And-Driving Crash

Since the inception of our website, we have been blogging about the dangers of texting while driving.  Recently, a Baltimore County jury awarded $664,000.00 to the victim of a texting-while-driving crash.  Lisa Moore suffered permanent back and knee injuries when a car driven by a driver who was texting crashed into her.

Ms. Moore recently had a spinal cord stimulator inserted in her back to alleviate severe back pain.  Unfortunately, the stimulator must be replaced every nine years.

We urge all drivers to put their smart phones in the trunk if the urge to text is that great.  It is simply too dangerous an activity.  As can be seen from this unfortunate case, juries of this State will not tolerate this conduct, and will deliver justice swiftly to those whose negligence causes harm to innocent drivers.
