The North Carolina Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services discovered Listeria monocytogenes in spinach distributed by Lancaster Foods of Jessup, Maryland. Consequently "Krisp Pak Ready to eat Hydro-Cooled Fresh Spinach" is being recalled with consumers being advised to throw it away but save the package for reimbursement.
There are not presently any reports of consumers becoming ill however pregnant women and people with compromised immune systems could have serious reactions to exposure.
