Fort Totten Metro crash trial delayed four months..for now.

For the interested observer, the pending United States District Court trial concerning the Fort Totten Metro crash of June 22, 2009 has been postponed from September 2011 to January 2012.

The Honorable Reggie Walton  decreed this in part because of the addition of two new defendants. The fallout from the N.T.S B.'s report in July will be interesting to observe as the litigation goes forward.

One suspects there is a good deal  of ground for the parties to cover even with additional four months.

While overall Maryland and the District of Columbia have very safe transportation systems the sheer number of people using them and the nature of the buses and trains utilized results in catastrophic injuries on a fairly routine basis.
