Drop-Side Cribs Outlawed. Crib Deaths to Decline?

We have reported in the past on recalls of a variety of dangerous products which have killed infants and toddlers.
Dangerous strollers, blinds and cribs have been the culprits.

Now an entire category of cribs are being outlawed completely. So-called drop-side cribs will no longer be sold in the United States. These cribs have been in wide usage for decades. The Consumer Product Safety Commission attributes  32 deaths to such cribs since 2000 with another possible 14 infant deaths.

Millions of these cribs have previously been recalled and it seems to make sense to outlaw them. For more see: http://www.maryland-law.com/blog/millions-of-cribs-recalled-after-four-infants-die.cfm
