Where were you when the great Maryland quake of 2010 hit? Or, did you even notice it?

Did You Feel It ?

It seemed so odd. A mysterious early morning rumble. My wife and I both noticed and in the way of many homeowners I felt obliged to get up in the near-dawn darkness and ascertain what component of my home had rumbled into obsolescence. I checked the fuse box, the air conditioning units, the furnace and garage. No evidence of this phenomenon was forthcoming.

I wandered around my house checking my kids rooms and coincidentally both my sisters and members of their familes were visiting so I made sure that none of them had rolled out of bed and caused a cataclysmic boom.

So back to bed only to discover that we had experienced a genuine earthquake, 3.6 on the Richter scale. Wow how exciting. Kinda glad we don't live in California though.
