Early this morning an SUV sideswiped an ambulance on Marlboro Pike in District Heights, Maryland culminating in the death of the three occupants of the SUV.

Ambulance 826 has just been dispatched to a call when the driver observed a vehicle traveling a great rate of speed coming directly towards them  going the wrong way on Marlboro Pike. The ambulance driver deftly swerved to avoid being struck head-on, doubtless saving the ambulance crew's lives.

The impact of the sideswipe that ensued, decimated the ambulance's patient area but left the crew largely unharmed.

The SUV subsequently struck a brick wall and a utility pole before ending up on its roof. The three occupants were pronounced dead at the scene. For more go to : http://wtopnews.com/?nid=708&sid=2054399
