Car and Truck Crash Safety : The Federal Highway Administration at work.

The Federal Highway Administration is devoted to developing programs and technologies to "reduce the number of fatalities and injuries on our Nation's roadways."

The abundance of information on their website is a bit overwhelming but if properly examined it can be quite useful.

Today we will look at the basic categories of information. They are generally; intersection safety, pedestrian and bicycle safety, speed management safety, roadway departure safety, local and rural road safety, and highway safety improvement safety program.

An additional all-encompassing category " additional safety program and initiatives" contains another vast sea of data.

We will be examining The FHWA and its many observations in a continuing series of blogs and articles in an effort to help reduce car and truck crash injuries and deaths in Maryland and the District of Columbia.
