Amtrak train 56 from Baltimore to Philadelphia struck and killed a pedestrian in Middle River, Baltimore County, Maryland around 9 a.m. today. The individual has not been identified yet and reportedly was on the tracks.

The 125 or so passengers were stranded while investigation of the incident unfolds and the arrival of a "rescue train"  takes place.
