Tractor Trailer CSX Train Collide in Harford County

A Friday morning Harford County crash between a tractor trailer and a Southbound CSX freight train ended predictably with the truck driver in the hospital.

The incident reportedly occurred around 9:30am when the tractor trailer driver disregarded flashing red safety signals on Joppa Road and collided with the train.

Miraculously, the commercial truck driver sustained non-life threatening injuries and no one on the train was injured.

While overall Maryland and the District of Columbia have very safe transportation systems the sheer number of people using them and the nature of the buses and trains utilized results in catastrophic injuries on a fairly routine basis.
