Prince George's County Beltway Reopens After Truck Crash

The snow is here and the inevitable result is traffic mayhem. On I-495 at Branch Avenue early this morning, a multiple vehicle crash pinned a woman in her car and closed down the Beltway's Outer Loop. Prince George's County Fire and Rescue personnel extricated the crash victim and took her to an area hospital where she is reportedly being treated for life-threatening injuries.

Reports are that a propane truck was involved in the crash, which is always unnerving given the potential for explosion. The Outer Loop of the Beltway was closed for a number of hours which of course caused traffic chaos in Prince Georges County.

The Beltway has reopened and traffic is reportedly moving. The Beltway shutdown backed up Outer Loop traffic into Virginia.
