Metro crash problems widespread

Widespread reports of more serious problems with Washington's metro are emerging. The track circuits which detect the presence of trains apparently are problematic both in the area where the tragic collision took place and also elsewhere in the system. This will inevitably result in questions both as to the ongoing safety of the system but also as to the candor of Metro officials. It also will raise red flags as to the  effectiveness of "monthly"  track circuitry evaluations performed before this collsion.
