A man struck by a Metro train on the Orange Line at Clarendon station Tuesday afternoon suffered potentially life threatening injuries, and is undergoing surgery today. The man suffered head injuries and multiple broken bones when he was struck by the train.
It is unclear whether the man's actions leading to the crash were intentional or not. Witnesses say the man walked through a tunnel leading to the tracks, and may have intentionally walked into the path of the metro train. Train service was delayed as engineers changed to a single track due to the accident investigation.
