Law Student Killed on Metro Tracks

A William and Mary law student was struck and killed by an Orange line Metro train on Independence Day.

Joseph Doyle of Oklahoma was a third year law student. The tragic incident took place at the Minnesota Avenue station. No foul play was thought to have occurred.

While overall Maryland and the District of Columbia have very safe transportation systems the sheer number of people using them and the nature of the buses and trains utilized results in catastrophic injuries on a fairly routine basis.
