An 82-Year Old Woman was struck and killed in a crosswalk in Columbia and the driver earned a six-month jail term.

Columbia Crosswalk Crash Yields Six-Month Jail Term

Last November Ayten Icgoren an 82-year old tried to cross Cradlerock Way in Columbia, Maryland. As she eased through the crosswalk she was struck by a vehicle driven by James Beaman, Jr.

Ms. Icgoren was taken to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center where she was pronounced dead. Mr. Beaman was charged with a variety of crimes and recently was sentenced to 18 months in jail with all but 6 months of the sentence suspended.
