A Montgomery County, Maryland jury returned a $5.6 million verdict against a Chevy Chase, Maryland physician for serious spine and nerve injuries he was alleged to have inflicted on a young physical therapist who was his patient.

The verdict included $2.5 million for lost wages, $2.1 million for pain and suffering and $276,000.00 for medical expenses.

The nine day trial culminated in an eight hour jury deliberation that produced the verdict. Some portion of the pain and suffering damages are likely to be reduced in accordance with the Maryland non-economic damages cap.
